It isn't that the N.V. Moët & Chandon Nectar Imperial Rosé Champagne is my favorite Champagne ever.
It's more that this Champagne is what I called on this week.
I called on it when friends were celebrating the birth of their first grandchild.
I called on it when other friends were honoring the death of a mother.
I called on it because it's a rosé, and it's summer, and it sparkles.
I called on it because it was at easily hand, and because my time and my thoughts were already occupied elsewhere.
I called on it because it's friendly and it accommodates lots of things -- occasions and personalities and what's for dinner.
I called on it because there were toasts to make, and words to say to commemorate people and moments.
I called on it to acknowledge the cycle of life, and of our lives.
I gave bottles of this Champagne away, and I'm sure I will again -- because there will always be moments and occasions to secure in our memories with a pop.
